I have a couple of people that are looking for some very basic firearms training in the Baton Rouge area. If it had a name I guess it would be something like First Time Shooters. A class that covered heavily just firearms safety, operation, and basic marksmanship. Something to start a newbie off right. Some of the CCW classes have the elements of what I think they need, but too much legal focus for these folks. They are nowhere near carrying concealed. Call this one Pre-Concealed Carry Training. Anyone know of such a thing in the BR area?

Bearco. I went to Barrett for my last ccw renewal. He was great working with the newbies. There were some people who hadn't shot in 30 years in the class. He did a great job with them and was much more patient that I would have been.

Just call 8-5 and ask for Glenn or Greg. Both are great guys and NRA certified instructors who also teach the concealed carry course. $30 per 1/2 hour of whatever the student wishes to cover.
Our Introduction to Home Defense Handguns is a no experience necessary course designed to start those interested in handguns for defensive purposes. I can/do provide students with handguns to use during the course free of charge.
