He called me 4 times last night but I just let it ring because I didn't want to mess with it and I was tired.
I'm rested and ready to go now so it's game on.
About to fire him a text and get him hungry for that cash again.
They must use those prepaid phones also, aren't they harder to track?
he'll if they wanted him they could trace his IP address.

Any luck with using that new outlook account?

    Ain't that interesting.
When I looked online at pics of FFLs they looked like yours but had the firearms category on them hummm
I will call the FBI this evening and give the info I have to them.
It really seems like this would be an easy to catch criminal, all they would have to do is contact post office that delivers to the address I provide and see where mail is forwarded, then if its sent to another place call that place...in the end with a few calls they could find the final resting place of these money.grams

Guess what I found! I found the original FFL. I'd say give the original FFL a call and see what he says:

    Real FFL

    Fake FFL
    attachment.php

Check the text on the lower left. The Fake is for Explosives, the original is actually an FFL.

Here's how an FFL number breaks down:

    FFL Example Number 1-56-063-02-1B-98765
    1 Southeast Region

56 North Carolina is the IRS regional district

063 Durham county and other locations in that county.

02 Pawnshop broker is the type of license

1B February of 2011 license expires

    98765 This dealers personal number.

Shannon Duffy's number should not start with a 5 since it's issued to Florida. That's the first and simplest tip-off.

    1-Southeast
    3-Midwest
    4-Central
    5-Southwest
    6-North Atlantic
    8-Mid-Atlantic
    9-Western

Has anybody else other than me thought about how hard it must be for a African foreigner to legitimately sell something in this country, as soon as anyone reads or hears their broken English it's automatically a scam.

Not saying the op's is or isnt a scam I didn't read all through the thread.

when he leaves work he will drop the gun off at UPS for shipping.
I have shipped a gun or two from here in Baton Rouge through a shipping company to an FFL, but it wasn't UPS, hell UPS flat out refused me at 3 different stores when I asked about it...
So I'm pretty sure its the same in most places ???
    LG

Not trying to say this isn't a scam, it probably is, but you can ship a firearm with UPS. It must be from one of their customer centers, not a store or such, and we have one in Port Allen, at this address

1111 Commercial Dr, Port Allen, LA 70767
    (800) 742-5877

I have personally shipped handguns using this method.

Also, for my first 2 years I lived on my own in Houston, I had no bank account and paid all my bills and rent using moneygrams bought at the corner Stop and Go, and cashed all my paychecks at the Fiesta Super Market. If it wasn't for my wife, I would probably still be doing this and have cash money hidden somewhere like I did back then. She has drastically improved me.

Any luck with using that new outlook account?

I contacted him about the Sig he was selling. Replied right back with me. Told him I was really interested and would pay right away. Exchanging emails now.

Just got contacted again. He says he's in FL using the same FFL he gave you.

Oh wait I also contacted him about the Colt Goldmatch gun he had listed in Lexington, KY. and he just sent me his FFL. Different than yours and what he sent me previously. What he said:

Yes I still have the colt pistol available for sale, send me your FFL address where you will like the gun to be shipped and I've attached mine in this mail...if you can make the payment available today and I get the confirmation,I will package the gun in its box with the accessories including the cleaning tools.and send it to you through ups over night priority...Let me know ASAP how you want this to go so I can send you my account number...thank you hope to hear from you soon.

Yep, same fake FFL laid over a sample ATF FEL form. Same FFL number too.

The reason searching the number only turns up Texas FFLs is because (gasp) the first 5 numbers say... "Texas FFL". That particular number expired October 2010 as indicated by the "0K".

    HAHa..
I saw that FFL come up when I put the number in on EZ check, but it didnt have his name or current address on it so I just assumed that it was not the correct one
Didn't even consider he would use a legitimate business FFL
    Good job

Yes I know you can use UPS but the ones I have close refused me, so it just threw up a flag in my mind.

Critta he said the same crap to me lol.

ATF called me back BTW .

I spoke to a fellow Named Alton
The number is 225-231-6620 you call and ask for him and voila.
He sounded very interested, and said it was going to have a deeper look into it.
I sent him all the information I have except for the text's which I will provide if he wants them..."I dont know how to get them off my phone"
Even sent him the links ya'll posted
Hope they get this ass clown

I'd say your FFL requested a new scan of Mr. Duffy's FFL as the license number is cut off and you can't initiate a transaction with that.

I hope he is caught and prosecuted.

Because you just know that he HAS taken someone's money.
You don't dive that deep into the scam and run multiple ads if you have not already been successful at it.
He's fine tuned the scam and running for touchdowns as fast as he can.

I spoke to the owners of Gun Workz and they said that they were told about this a while back and have been in contact with the ATF.
The lady said she has just been trying to find info on the guy.
It sounds like an older couple who make an honest living doing what we all love "Playing with guns"
I sent her all the same stuff I sent the ATF.

This guy has called me about 4 times and sent me about 5 texts...I just use the "Im in a meeting or I'm still at work" auto reply button haha.

His last text says "You should really call me"

I am thinking about sending him a text that says "I don't have time to call right now, but I'm Sure some friends with the ATF will be calling shortly"
But then again if he is still doing this then he has probably been told the same thing before and knows they are not coming after him.

Damn I wish there was a way to find this pecker head..
I wonder if I could inquire with the post office if there is a forwarding address and if so are there multiple and what are they.

So if I can find an end address who wants to go on a road trip...I can make this all legal :-)

Well that's great that you're located in Milton, Florida and have you're own FFL license. I have a summer house located in Bay Town Wharf right past Milton in Destin. I'll be coming that way this week and we can meet up at your shop or wherever your FFL is through and I can give you the cash and check out the gun. When we're done I'll give you a copy of my FFL where you can ship it to and I'll pick it up when I get back to town.

NOW OUR EMAILS ABOUT THE COLT:

    From him:
My scanner is bad at the moment you will have to talk to your dealer to take it like that or you use another dealer and if that is not possible, maybe you should talk to the other guy...I really would love to do business with you...thanks.

I'll be using Billy Bob's Hillbilly Gun Supply and Wholesaler. They're a small store located in Plaquemines Parish near New Orleans.
I tried to print out the FFL you sent me but the last 4 numbers seem to be cut off in the picture.
Billy Bob is an ornery old sum bitch and he won't do the transfer unless everything is a OK in his book so I'll need the full copy of the FFL.

Like I said I've contacted another guy about a sig also and he already got back to me. Just waiting on his FFL too. Whoever gets me what I need to get their transaction moving first gets my cash. Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy both guns though.
If I hear back in enough time I'll send payment ASAP.

So I'm the guy posing as Karl Downum. If you look at the emails check out the ones sent by me. The time stamp says they were sent at 5:47 and 6:06 pm. I sent them today at 11:47 am and 12:06pm today. This dude isn't even in the country. His time zone puts him somewhere around London on the map.

Moneygrams don't have to be sent through the mail. It can be done just like a wire transfer. He's good.

I'm gonna play stupid and keep messing with this guy.
