My son made about 4000 300 blackout brass from .223 cases. He has a jig to cut the necks and then forms them in the die, then trims on the lathe with another jig. He's using H110 also for sub sonic and super sonic. 18.5 with 125gr is the super sonic load at 2.200" Shooting in 9" SBR. I need a barrel to make mine. Looking for a 16" barrel if anyone has one lying around. James, I thought about the handi rifle for my grandson, is yours for the boy's? and how is the recoil with it.

I have a 16" AAC upper for sell in the market place. If it doesn't sell soon, I will be taking the barrel off. I was going to keep it but I guess I can sell it.

I just orderd 500 of the 220gr SMK with cannelure. These are usually only for sell to ammo manufactors but this guy has some connections. I'd be willing to trade some for some Accurate 1680.

I've been shooting 11.1grs of reloader 7 behind a 220 smk or nosler cc and a 220 pro hunter. Holds about 1050 at the muzzle of my 16" ar and cycles the gun, but I have a pistol length gas system on the gun.
The 220 smk I seat to 2.200, the pro hunter at 2.100. I also use a lee factory crimp die

My new method for converting 223 to 300 blackout:

If this is a high jacking of the thread sorry please delete it mods
I have plans for a 16" carbine "not suppressed"
And have WW296 a pile of 168 A Max bullets so far just looked at the Hornady manual for loads So wonder what has worked best in this weight range?
I am sure Donnies will be coated. But have a plans to use a cast from a copy of the old Lyman 311365. Have a Brass NOE it comes in @ 200 grains that has shot very clean and accurate in 4 different Garands
So will try them in the AR and have to ask...........What have ya'll used in 300BLK Cast so far coated or non coated?

I know it's old but FWIW I cast the lee 230 powder coat dry tumble with PBTP over H4198. Shoots about 2-2.5 moa. That's my general plinking round. 220smks get me just over 1 moa around 80yrds.

I too casted up some LEE 230gers today. I have 2lbs of powder paint coming from Prismatic powder ($3.99 / lb on sale) to coat them with and I will also use the HiTek coating as well. I also have some 150g LEE bullets that are used for the AK that I will try.

Anyone load 230g cast with H110 to be shot from an AR. Looking for load recommendations. I have some load data but most are for bolt guns.

I tried h110 first but I kept getting a high cold bore shot until I switched to h4198. I'll look this evening at what my load was, but Im pretty sure I used the same powder charge listed for 220g smk and bolt guns.

I have 2 Daniel Defense rifles in purgatory waiting on paperwork. One is the intergrally supressed varient, the other is a SBR with a 10 inch barrel and detachable surpressor. I don't reload yet. I'm planning to start after obtaining possession of my rifles and running a couple of hundred rounds thru each. Can anyone recommend a good how to book?
