Was prepping Jerky and Pinole tonight, and didn't feel like cooking. So I just whipped up some Bannock and beans (Laughed to myself at how many people probably have had that meal)

Wondering what your Jerky recipe is, as I'm not happy with mine.
(salt, pepper, dales, liquid smoke, worcestershire and a little sugar.)

    Work in progress...

    Want to help me out?

    church point, la
Never heard of Bannock. After researching for 45 seconds, I see lots of people eat it while camping. Will have to whip some up.

Those ingredients plus some brown sugar, and a little cumin.

    Don't make jerky, make biltong.

    I do occasionally...
    Well then problem solved.

Something I would tinker with is the addition of different glutamates. Try soy sauce or nam pla. I find a touch of molasses and regular cane sugar does better than brown sugar don't know why.

invest in a dehydrator with a fan rather than the convection type if you haven't already it makes a difference
