Winchester 1300 Defender

]Mesa Tactical use to make an AR type High tube adapter and rail for the Winchester 1300 Defender. It was the best design for this type of tactical after market accessory. Although they still make them for the Remington 870 and Mossberg 500/590 the Winchester variant has been discontinued. I can't find one anywhere. Does any one have or know someone that has one that they might sell to me. Here's the way it's set up now with the ATI adapter, (low tube type) ITT Enidine shot shock, Magpul STR with the Battleline industries Magpul variant SAPR stock attachment, needed because of the low tube type adapter.

If anyone would like to know. I found a company that took off were Mesa Tactical left off. They are making the AR type stock adapter for the Winchester 1300 almost identical to the one that Mesa used to make. Here's the link.

Another new improvement in the evolution of this Shotgun. I added an FN TPS Ported Barrel. The front sight post was originally designed for the FN A2 type sight. I Drilled and taped two holes in the top, to mount a small Picatinny rail on top for the flip up sight.

I made a couple of more improvements. After an exhaustive 4 year search for an FN TPS trigger group assembly, I finely found one and installed it. I replaced the Fab Defense ARG-43 grip with an ATI Talon grip with the Scorpion recoil absorbing rubber back strap(much better suited for the heavy 12 gauge recoil). Also, though I liked the Kit Fox Defense rifle stock, the L.O.P. was to long for me. So I was able to find a great bargain on an ACE Socom M4 adjustable short stock that has a nice soft rubber butt stock pad for that heavy recoil, used but in like new condition to replace it with. Also I modified a Beamshot rail light mount to create a barrel clamp front sight rail. It works very nicely and I don't have to remove it in order to remove the barrel for cleaning. And lastly I replace the A2 type front and rear sights with Yankee Hill flip up BUIS sights and an inexpensive but durable UTG Red/Green Circle/Dot optic sight. I took it to the range, and after sighting it in, this beast is horrifying accurate with the use of 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells with 1oz rifled slugs, out to 200 yards and even beyond. So awesome.

[/URL][/IMG]Finished the final rebuild on my tactical Winchester 1300 Defender. Simpler lighter better. It's as close to a FN TPS as I could get it, without it actually being one. I call it the Winchester 1300 defender TPS (Tactical punisher Shotgun).

I'm a big fan of the defender. I picked one up during the Katrina evacuation. Drilled and tapped the receiver for the a pic rail. Installed a XS Marlin peep sight on the rear and then an XS barrel band epoxied to the front. Love the speed pump! If they made a .410 I'd build one up for the wife.

I bought the defender sxp recently and put the Carlson tactical muzzle brake, SJ hardware 2 shot extension and Vortex Sparc II.
