I currently have a paid of G19 Gen 4 that I have always liked...
    then.... Shot a buddy's xdm3.8

Picked one up at the last gun show in Lafayette and have 200 flawless rds through it so far. I shoot this thing so much better.

May be switching to the xdm line now.

I still love my glocks... but at this time I am digging the xdm. Anyone else make a similar change?

Nope. Started with the XD45 service years ago and my edc is an XD40sc w/ PRP drop in trigger (so SWEET!). The only thing tempting me will be the next thing out by Glock - the single stack 9. Maybe then we'll see.

I've been considering these pistols (and keeping an eye out for one). I don't have a lot of experience with XD, does the grip angle differ when going from XD to XDM? Also, how do you feel about the balance of the XDM 3.8 (top heavy, awkward, etc)? Thanks!

I believe that xd and xdm grip angles are the same. xdm has the changable back straps and the xd has none.

It really balances just like the G19 for me.

I love my XDM 3.8 45 C. I have probably 3000 rounds through it. No problems. Congratulations. I hope you continue to enjoy it.

XDM 3.8 45 compact-Got one too: Great gun, easy to shoot, scary accurate, low recoil, and did I say it's a 45? What horse power with full size mag.

I think they are good guns. They have a nice trigger pull, a nice grip, point pretty good, and the XDm models come with match grade barrels. I have owned 3 XDm models and 2 XD models. I wish they did not have the grip safety and the loaded chamber indicator; my thoughts are they are not needed and make the gun more complicated. They will also rust if one abuses them a little. I tell you what looks really good is an XDm after it comes back from Robar with the NP3 finish - the rust problem is solved and the magazine release buttons work easier and smoother.

I have a Glock G19 gen 4 and an XDm-9, and I'll tell you, I really prefer the XDm-9. I like the grip safety and chamber indicator as well as match grade barrell that the G19 doesn't have. Oh and also the extra capacity in the XDm-9 (19+1)!

Love my XD's, started with an xd40 compact, bought an additional xd45 service, sold the compact to get an xdm 3.8 .45.
