When: Saturday, August 30, 2014 & Sunday, August 31, 2014- Range opens about 7:30 AM and matches start around 9:00.
Where: Ascension Parish Sheriff's Range, Gonzales (Across the street from Lamar Dixon)
What: Smallbore rifle silhouette is like competitive plinking. The object is to shoot a steel target off a rail. This is a good introductory video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEk3AulEHac
Equipment needed: Any .22 rifle is fine, preferably with a scope. Also ammo and ear plugs.
This match is the Louisiana State Championship. Some of the best shooters in the world will be there. The current national champion in both Standard and Hunter smallbore rifle will be in attendance, as will the current national champions in Sporter Air Rifle Silhouette, Target Air Rifle Silhouette and Open Air Rifle Silhouette. It should be a great match. The food will be awesome too.
