I am thinking of making a 10/22 pistol similar to this thing but utilizing a Sig brace.

Now I know I cannot use a receiver which has already been made into a rifle because it has been tainted and I don't want to use a Ruger Charger because I would wind up replacing most of the parts anyway.

Does anyone know if it is possible to select "pistol" as the firearm type on the form 4473? I don't see why this wouldn't be possible but I am hoping someone here has experience with it.

    I am considering this recieiver:

    Thanks.

If you get that receiver it would be listed as "other" on the 4473 since it is a receiver and neither a pistol nor long gun. You could then build it into either a pistol or a rifle.

Thanks, that is what I suspected.
