For the last decade or so, I have bought a firearm of some sort at election time, both to remind myself how important our 2nd Amendment rights are, and to give me something to be positive about if the election turns out to be another disaster for our county, ala 2008 and 2012. Just picked up a CZ 75. Anyone else do anything like this?

That's a good ritual. The 2nd amendment is my primary issue in voting. Although most candidates don't fit me perfectly, due to my right of choice opinion; and I work union; that goes against the whole republican idea.

I usually celebrate the election results on Vermilion Bay and end up having a boating accident. :( One would think that I should have learned my lesson by now...

I thought it was illegal to carry at a place of voting.

We let our kids cast the votes in the booths w/ us, as we direct them on the best choices; teaching them early.

It is illegal as far as I know. But he said bought, not brought.

And why is it illegal to bring a gun to a polling place? What we can't mix our 2A rights with our voting rights? Gun free zones are just stupid.

An older fellow I used to hunt with made it a point to buy at least one gun every year. If he didn't, he considered it a bad year.
