Question for you hunters.. I've never been hunting before and my inlaws all have leases. I've taken the online hunters education but every field day I try to schedule happens to be when I'm working. Could I get a Hunting license with the restriction that I must go with someone who has had hunters education? Are there any other groups that do field days other than the state?

What state do you plan on hunting in? Don't know how old you are but if you were born on or after Sept. 1, 1969 you can get grandfathered in. I can't speak for other states except Colorado, but I know they make you have a hunters education card to get a hunting license.

You can go get your license now, it will say restricted, and you must be within talking distance of someone of at least 18 years of age, with a non restricted hunting license. I just got one restricted myself. When you do get your safety course just carry it with you with your restricted license.

At some point you they recorded your hunters education number along with your LDWF#. All the info is stored by that number.
I believe they can search by DL#, SSN, or LDWF# to find you in the system.
