I have been considering getting a .22LR pistol for some range fun. I would like to have the option to add a suppressor in the future too. I am open to models that resemble the 5.56 pistols or SMGs, just looking for general advise from people who own them. Thanks for the input!

I've got a few of the Ruger's in all 3 MK gens and have to agree. If you know you will likely be going suppressed, I would definitely consider a threaded barrel version from the start. There are adapters that fasten to the end of a non threaded barrel, but I don't know how well they function.

Great advise! I have a 10/22 (my first rifle, a gift from my dad) and I could not be happier with it. I will be doing some shopping in the near future!

another vote for 22/45 lite. I was lucky enough to score one of the bronze ones. I put $100 into it to put fiberoptic sights on it and get rid of the mag safety. I love it. Shoot it all the time with my spectre II.

+1 for the Browning Buckmark. My first hg. My son shot it for the first time last month, smile on his face was priceless. Hunt for an older one. My trigger is stock but awesome, I added the hiviz front sight that's it. 5L

I have a Ruger 22/45 lite. While I like it. I love my new Walther PPQ22. It is threaded and has a 12 round magazine. It eats anything you feed it and has ambitious controls just like it's big brothers in 9 and 40. It's also a lot easier to break down and put back togdther.

I have a Sig Mosquito with a threaded barrel and with a SilencerCo Sparrow it is actually more accurate than it was without the can. Not sure why, but it is. As far as rifles go, don't overlook a bolt action with a threaded barrel. My Browning t-bolt is crazy quiet. Far more so then my 10/22s.
