Which model do you have/ would you choose?

I will be pairing this light with a thorntail offset mount for use either on my Scar16 or my AR 7.5" pistol.

    Heres my dilemma:

I can buy the mount and the shorter 200 lumen WML model separately for about $170 or I can get the mount and the longer 500 lumen WMLX model in a combo from IWC for the same price if not cheaper.

So i guess my question is....is the longer/brighter light the better option? Its roughly 1" longer than the original wml.

WMLx... can't beat the 500 lumens... though 200 does significantly disrupt vision, you can imagine what 500 will do. I have a 1000 lumen Streamlight and aside from being a blinder, will also work nicely as a means of warmth! When it's on, I'm surprised it doesn't glow orange like I just pulled it from a fire pit!

So much light is such a small package... incredible!

Im leaning toward the 500 lumen model as of now. I think that would go well on my scar. If i like it ill just buy the wml model for my pistol. Im just thinking the shorter light would be more suitable for when I SBR my ar pistol and possibly the scar.

You can get a 300u for about the same price.

Where? The average price of the Inforce is $149.00... the average price for a 300u is no less than $230.00. Used? Refurbished?

    INFORCE WMLx: - $149.00

    High: 500.0 lumens
    Strobe: 500.0 lumens

    Run Time:
    High: 2 hours

    Bezel Diameter: 1.125"
    Length: 5.34"
    Weight w/Batteries: 4.0 oz.
    Batteries: 2 x 123A Lithium

    SUREFIRE 300u: - $230.00 +/-

    Bezel Diameter: 1.125"
    Length: 3.60"
    Weight w/Batteries: 4.0 oz.
    Batteries: 2 x 123A Lithium

Max Output -- White Light 500.0 lumens
    Run time 1.5 hours

For the strobe function, longer run time, and price... (not even accounting for the design and push button actuation) I'll take the Inforce.

Surefire makes a great product, however, it is designed to be placed on the under rail of a pistol... and the lever actuation switches are specifically designed around that application. Not that they are not used in other capacities... but the Inforce was designed around its use on a railed rifle platform.

I had the inforce wml on a pistol build it was really nice, not too big and very sleek design. I plan on going with the xl version on my next sbr

On the pistol I'd probably go with the WML for compactness. On the SCAR I'd probably go with the x. As far as weight I believe there is only a 1-2 oz difference.

They are $180 at botach, I got mine for $160 last Christmas. They don't require a mount to go on the top rail, so there is a little savings there. The temporary on feature of the sure fire is one thing I like, I also think they are more rugged than an inforce.

The cheapest Rail integrated mount style Surefire Botach has is the SureFire Y300 Ultra - $265.50

They have the WMLx as "Coming Soon" for $175.00 (Higher than anyone else)

You must have caught a deal... however, the AVERAGE price for the Surefire 300u is $230 EVERYWHERE else I have looked... I would still go for the Inforce (also doesn't require a mount and can go on the top rail also - Same diameter).

Deal must've expired in the last couple of days. They were at $190, not $180 like I said earlier. I regularly see them under $200.

I like surefire and streamlight designs, but the ergonomics of the wml seems like its tough to beat. I have a tlr1s and a tlr1hp, i considered a pressure switch panel but favored the idea of simplicity with the wml.

The 300u differs from the tlr in that pushing the levers towards the bezel gives mentary on. That's why I like it for the rifle.
