Welp I scratched another itch. I swiped my cc at classic firearms for a vepr 12.

Any of you guys have experience with these? Ive read mixed things about out of box reliability concerning low brass cycling. From what I have read its been more positive than negative.

For you owners and previous owners, what should I know about these?

    UPDATE:
Going to test her out tomorrow...My last 4 digits of the SN are 6666. The last 3 digits are stamped on numerous portions of the gun...It must be an evil black gun. :naughty:

You need a Salvo for it now.

Oh man, let me sbs it first! Lol. I guess i would have to have it cut and threaded to one of the popular choke tube patterns? i could still get a protruding breacher brake if i got it re worked and cut for the rem 870 threads.

I took mine out for the first time last week and bought a crap load of different shells to test and it ran everything just fine. The target shells didn't eject very far, but they still cycled just fine. I also have the GK-01 brake on mine and what a difference that thing makes. I was shooting 1 1/2 oz slugs out of it and the recoil was pretty mild considering. I did have problems with the SMG mags though. They were causing some misfeeds at points. It sucks that factory 8 and 10 round mags are $80+.

I've never heard of vepr cycling issues. Saiga... Deffinately. My vepr runs good. Only time ive ever had a failure to eject is when i didnt beat enough rust off some old low brass shells!!

Also concerning mags. I cut the lug off a saiga mag and did a little sanding. Works perfectly!

Toork, thanks for the tips! Im going to have to see about saiga mag mods, do you have any links or pics?

Actually this something i did on a whim. So no links. Basically what I did was cut and sand the front lug off with a dremal and then smooth it out by hand.

Although it function flawlessly, I added a little electrical tape to tighten it up in the vepr mag well.

I've put probably 5 boxes of shells through the modified mag. No issues thus far.

I love mine. The only issue i have had is that some times the cheap o shells get stuck between the FSB and the receiver.
I also recently took the time to convert it to 922r complaint and broke to weld of the folding stock.
But what is better than a mag fed semi auto shotgun? (except for maybe a fully auto one)

Looks like it works....any reason you went with a modified S12 mg over the aftermarket SGM optiin for the Vepr 12?

    I guess I have God's Ar-15 then. I've got a lower with the last three digits 777.

Nice shotgun though I've got an unconverted saiga 12 and have been eyeballing the vepr
