Was able to pick up 2 rifles from Spillway Sportsman at a price I couldn't beat. One is a 30-06, the others is a 300 WSM.... Anyone have any knowledge on it? Capable for long range shooting? Is there any where in Louisiana that has a 500yrd range? I have a place I can punch out to 300yrds but no further......

600 is considered mid range not long range. Those rifle should be very capable unless there is some issue with them like bad scope setup or load not working. Of course shooter error and wind reading is probably the bigger issue. They are not full custom high dollar rigs, but you can definitely get started with them.

The SPS doesn't have the best stock but you can make it work. Some stocks are better than others in the SPS line. I have what is considered the worst one and it can work.

One hard thing about shooting longer distance is seeing where your shot hit.

Palo Alto: 600yd but private. Easiest way to shoot there is a match or as a guest.

Eymards: 800yds - May be your best bet as you can pay as you go and have a spotter if I have that correct.

Long Range Alley: North La, but has 1000yds
