Welcome to a state that welcomes firearms! Haha.

I mean that as a joke.

Unfortunately, that's not a joke at all :( I don't know if you've ever heard of the "NY Safe Act" but it's the most insane law ever passed. You can't have more than 7 rounds in any weapon (THIS INCLUDES COPS) in NY. Do the math on that one.
Also, thanks all for the warm welcome!

Are you from nyc or upstate? I have to spend a lot of time south of Buffalo. That safe act is wild.

    Welcome from Baton Rouge!

Just got back from Lafayette, Sunday I had to make a pilgrimage to Prejean's Restaurant, for Smoked Duck and Andouille Gumbo, with rice, potato salad and fresh French bread. I ate this huge bowl of awesome Cajun goodness then made the mistake of getting their white chocolate bread pudding for desert! I ate it all, then told my wife this is the kind of meal one would have as a "last meal" . If the Lord took me right then I was totally satisfied and ready to go!
If you like good food, you going to LOVE Lafayette!

Interestingly enough, I'm actually from Buffalo :) Sorry to hear you have to spend time there lol. It used to be a great city, now it's just barely hanging on by a thread.

It's not that bad, the snow and the gun laws get old. Most of my time are in the Fredonia / Dunkirk area.

Don't know if you eat Cajun food, or at least yet... But stop by "the best stop" small little shop that sells some of the best cracklings and smoked boudin.... Every times I drive from Nola to Houston, I have to make a stop there.
