    I've tried 3 different $10 ones.
1 never worked the other two worked a couple times then crapped out.
So let me know which one works as well.

I'm not saying you in particular but many people think that if it is bore sighted or laser bore sighted then it is "sighted in". THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! You still need to go shoot the weapon and make actual adjustments. Either bore sighted or laser bore sighted does NOT mean "hunting ready".

All you need to do if you can pull a bolt out of the weapon is put the weapon on a steady rest, sandbags, vise, whatever and look down the barrel at something about 50-100 yards away (fence post, street light, sign, anything that you can easily make out). Make sure the shadow of the bore is equidistant from all edges to what you have picked out as your target in the center of the bore. Then look through the aiming device, irons, scope, red dot, whatever and adjust it to what you are using as the reference. This will get you "on paper" just like bore sighting will do for you to make your final adjustment. Bore sighting doesn't do anything more than this does. This technique doesn't work with say a lever rifle but in that case just start with the target at 25 yards and work your way back. Hint, if you want to be on at 100 you would be "1-3" low at 25 depending on sight height.

Fooled with a couple. Both were spotty at best. This technique takes 3-5 minutes at most and cost $0.
