    I'm not 100% positive, but I believe the mechanism is in the drum itself.

    Tha particular mechanism appears to be shrouding the shotgun shell tip from flaring out of the cylinder when you shoot by bridging the gap between cylinder and bore. Similar to how a nagant pistol pushed the cylinder forward...this is pushing a sleeve backward against the cylinder. The trigger mechanism is still in the back (from what I can tell). There is a pretty large lump on the top of the rear behind the cylinder. I'm thinking yes the trigger pull is going to be tough!

    I was actually looking at the movement in the middle, under the sleeve.
