My Dad Called

Got a phone call from my Dad today. He moved years ago to Houston, Dad is 78 years old. Was at Krogers yesterday, gets out his car to do some shopping. Cars pulls up behind his and blocks him in. Black dude jumps out and tells him to hand his keys over. Guys gets closer and starts to screaming that he is going to shoot my Dad! Pops looks at the gun and it is a plastic toy. The old man tells him go ahead, try! Pops told him he not going to shoot no one with a plastic gun! Pops and the dude start to fight, just about then the car with his buddies hauls ass as they start to fight. Dad used to box in high school, I figure he put a few licks on the guy, then the clown took off because his ride bailed on him. Glad he wasn't hurt or shot. Everyone please be aware of your surroundings. This could have turn real bad, thank God it didn't. POS are everywhere! :mad:

He did, the store said the video quality was too bad to get any details. Pops said he didn't even call the cops??? He thought it would do no good???

Houston's crime is getting pretty bad, just as many murders as we have daily, but their population is 4 million I believe, 6 million in the Houston "area" which includes Spring, pearland etc...

Good thing it worked out for your dad. Too bad the guy didn't end up needing an ampbulamps. Some of the best KO videos are olders guys that were boxers.

I think the guy probably thinks they won't catch an armed robbery charge because the gun is plastic and not real. Wouldn't be the first one that thought it.

I think the POS is as lucky as my Dad, when pops lived in La. he would always carry a gun in his car. If he had it he might have shot the clown. It probably turned out the best considering what could have happened. It would been bad to hear my step mom call and tell me something like Dad got shot, or he shot someone with a plastic gun!!

Tell your dad to call the cops. They may not have gotten a look at the plate in that frame but I would bet those thugs have been cruising the parking lot frequently. They may get a plate from them just cruising, and maybe, just maybe they parked and walked in the store. The interior cameras are good enough for your dad to ID. They won't comb through the video for your dad but might for the right detective. I bet this wasn't the first time these guys pulled this... or the last.
