That post is WAY too long and has too much information. What exactly does this light do that others don't? And why is it so cheap? Convince me and you've got my $20!

    What batteries do they consume?

This....that is a lot of information to digest and some of that stuff is over my head....

I just need the basics and I'll be "in" for at least one or two...

Battery type? And what type of emitter do I want? 1A, 5A, 5B as I have no clue what all of that means...Thanks!

It appears to be a prototype. Is there risk of it blowing up? Lumen output? Beam spread? Just let me know and I'll throw a 20 your way!

And they are suggesting that these are bursts of high output! Any handheld that produces over 1000 lumens is serious! So, the questions should be:

    Battery type.
    Battery life (during usage).

No question; LED flashlights are the shizzle! And where were they all of our lives when we were pissing money away on incandescent lights? As a matter of course, no one should ever sell another incandescent flashlight now.

You will have to join the forum to get in on the buy , post in the thread how many you want and color tint (I suggest 3c or 5a ) the 1a is too blue to me BUT at 20 bucks get one of each and decide for yourself . when the light go' s in to production you will receive a pm= Private message With a code to enter when you order to get the lights at the Group buy price. Takes one 18650 battery to my knowledge this is a good battery http://www.mtnelectronics.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_88&product_id=542 FYI research laptop pull's laptops use the same battery and these can be found for free also battery-powered handtools often have the same batteries also! Budget light forums has a subform about batteries and chargers lots of info similar to this form except dealing with flashlights . Many of the members there are electrical engineers the guys that put together this group buy are very knowledgeable . Most of the pertinent info about specifics of the light is in the the first page of the thread as it has been updated throughout the design phase . The fact that 600 of these light's are pre-ordered by members there speak's for its self.

Mtn electronics is a U.S. Based store so faster shipping, gearbest is China based so shipping will be slower

I see that 1A is bright blue light and 5A is more natural white light, so what is 3C tint?
