Right now I have plates at 100, 250, 400, 500, 600, 1000, 1100, and I just marked off a 1500yd for another plate. I also have a pistol range with steel plates. Maybe one day Ill open it up to some members. Gotta pass that idea on to the wife though lol.

    Yep, still in the patch.
How do you guys feel about having a range day? Not sure how many I can host at one time though

wow. That is legit! I've been wanting to do something like this at our place in Mississippi. What are you using for your steel at those ranges?

    Well done!
Until I was happy with my steel plates out to 500 and having a concrete shooting table set up!

Its not my range but I shoot at steel targets alot so I'll chime in. AR500 is the grade you want. The thickness really depends on the distance you want to shoot at it and the caliber you are using. For 300 yards plus 3/8" thick is fine for most non magnum calibers. If you are shooting Magnum 7mm's and 30 calibers then 1/2" thick from 300-600 would be advisable. For the large 30 caliber mangums as well as .338's then 3/4" all the way out would be best. You can use the thinner plates on the bigger calibers but they are going to take more abuse. Use Grade 8 bolts to secure the targets and the bigger the better. 1/2" bolts minimum but 3/4" will take MUCH more pounding. If you use "regular" bolts you will be shooting them off quick.

Man; you run some electricity out there (if you don't have already), put some nice fans on those poles, add a roof; and that is top notch stuff there!

It appears you are set up exclusively for prone shooting?!? Is that your discipline of choice? Just wondering.
