So we recently transitioned to Glock 34s and duty holsters that accommodate tactical lights (I opted for a TLR-1S), and although I don't usually pack my duty weapon off-duty, I'd like to get something for the rare occasion I might, or training days and such where plainclothes is the option. Anyone have recommendations/experience with any concealed-carry designs that accommodate a light?

http://www.geauxhardholsters.co/genesis.html is an IWB option, doesn't list G34 but I'm sure he can make it. I got a OWB holster for a 1911 with light from him recently and it's very nice. Owner is a local LEO as well.

I want something that is not my bulky duty rig, and I don't want to have to keep taking the light off, putting it back on, if I can get something that will work. Not gonna be sportin' it to the beach, but something either OWB or IWB that will snug it up closer than a duty holster, and could be covered with a long enough shirt or light jacket depending on the weather. I don't do form-fitting garments.

Raven Concealment or Bravo Concealment holsters. Both made of kydex and are very thin.

Yep. It's not for everyone and it definitely isn't the easiest thing to do. I can carry my 17 all day with a fitted shirt, and no one will notice, but my buddies can't. The folks saying "Get this holster, it will work" are the lucky ones that have that build type.
