I'm in the New Iberia, Saint Martinville, Breaux Bridge areas. I need two AR 15 lowers professionally engraved while I'm awaiting stamps. Does anyone know of anyone that offers this service in my general area? With that said, for those of you who are familiar with engraving know that their are 2 types.......rotary and laser. Out if these 2 types, which would you suggest.

    Please let me know!
    Thanks...

I think you can rule out the laser, it's supposed to be engraved to a certain depth,
.003 is the minimum depth and no less than 1/16" tall letters

Ahhh, ok I didn't know that. Thanks!
I figured it was an option, I've seen pics of many people doing it online.
Would you happen to have a link or something that would guide me to the exact requirements of the engraving per the ATF?
    Again, thank you.

Those are the minimum requirements. I would try to go no less than .1 vs .062 on the height. The .003 is very light also, so I would go for .010" depth. It is a balance of factors to get the NFA lettering to fit a lower and get a cutter small enough to still work.

.062 x .003 is just too tiny and shallow.
.100 x .010 is a better minimum to shoot for.

Cutting to depth is not a function of laser vs rotary. Some lasers will cut into the aluminum depending on the type of laser. Most trophy shop have CO2 laser which will not cut into aluminum. It has to do with wavelengths of the laser and such.

Make a trip to NOLA and go see Request Dust Off! Lol. But really he does great work.

Thanks, but I don't have time to make a trip to NOLA. I was hoping someone does engraving around the BR area.
