    I lived in Cali for my time in the Infantry at Fort Ord in the mid 80's.
    Rode around on my Honda 650 throughout the base and beyond.
    Even rode it to Louisiana and back two times.
    And yes, I carried a 1911 as well.
    No issues and no worries.
    Yes, times change.
