    Would it be illegal for an officer to take the camera, without the owner's consent, and watch the video? Without a search warrant? I remember a law class I took where we talked about something like that and how it could then be inadmissible in court if not seized through proper channels. And that is what I was getting at with my "probably no" statement.

    Camera can be taken without a warrant if its in the vehicle, then you need a warrant secured to search contents of camera. Camera in vehicle = vehicle exception. Once the camera is out of the car, the exception no longer applies, because it is secured, so you need a warrant.
