Q: In how many ways can ten students be split into two teams of five for a basketball game this weekend?

    What do y'all think?
    126, 3628800, or something else?

My question is, why does it matter and does anyone really care?

The concept is on a test I have soon, and my 55 classmates are disagreeing on how to do it. I figured one of you people will have a solid answer haha.

You're being asked to calculate the number of combinations without repetition (e.g. John doe can't be on team a twice in the same combination or on team a and team B in the same combination). There's the same number of players on each team, and we aren't factoring in position, so you really just need to know how many combinations without repetition you can make of 10 elements in a set of 5. 10!/[5!(10-5)!] = 252

My stats is rusty, but think that's right

Are they playing on a weekday or weekend? Statically speaking, .300 BLK could drop a boar in its tracks, if they use a Spalding ball on a Wednesday.

Also, what's the race of each player? You can't put all the short white kids on the same team.
