Gonna try to start making a few USPSA matches. I'm gonna start back using my G-19 and I'm needing advise on holsters?

I use a G34 and I really like my Comp-Tac International. I also used a Bladetech and it had a smooth draw. I've also seen guys using OWB Kydex holsters closer to the body, but I personally wouldn't go that route for USPSA.

Sorry I overlooked this. Thanks for the info I will look at Comp-Tac. I used the Bladetech and it wasn't for me it would jam my thumb up. I really liked the Ready Tactical I had so I may just go back with that. It's been a few years since I've shot USPSA and just wanted to see if anything new was out.

Kydex on a Safariland Drop Mount is what you seek. Put a QLS on the drop mount and you can use multiple holsters with the same mount.

I bought one through the Way of the Gun website. I forget who makes them for Proctor, but I saw it in one of his videos and thought it looked like a clean/simple design with some drop/offset. The draw is not quite as slick as I would like, but I have no comparison to the normal Bladetech or Comp-Tac that it seems everyone uses.

    For $80!?!?!

I can make you a similar holster with Safariland mounts for less than that. The kydex shells are dirt cheap to make.

When I 1st started shooting matches I had one setup kinda like that. I think the space between the grip and the belt was too big or something along those lines "illegal for some reason". The second problem I had was Safariland quit making that mount for a 1-1/2" belt. I'm gonna do a little homework tho because it was a few years ago and I could be wrong.

The price is high but I may just order one because I like buying holsters lol. Really tho I like the clean look of it.

Nope, they still make mounts for 1.5" belts.

The max distance from the belt is 2".

    5.2.5 Where a Division specifies a maximum distance that a competitor’s
handgun and equipment may extend away from a competitor’s belt, the
measurement shall be taken in the following manner:
    — Perpendicular to the belt at the point of attachment to the belt
    — from the inner most surface of the belt equipment (against the
pants/body) to the closest point of the grip of the handgun and/or any
    reloading device.
5.2.5.1 These measurements may be taken with the equipment as worn
    or removed (see App. E2).
5.2.5.2 Any competitor who fails the foregoing test will be required to
21 USPSA Handgun Rules, February 2014 Edition
immediately adjust his holster or equipment to comply with the
requirements of the relevant Division. The Range Master may
make allowances for variations in these requirements due to
anatomical considerations. Some competitors may not be able
    to fully comply.
5.2.5.3 Unless specified in the written stage briefing, or unless required
by a Range Officer, the position of holsters and allied
equipment on the belt must not be moved or changed by a
competitor during a match. If a retaining strap is attached to a
holster or magazine pouch, it must be applied or closed prior
to issuance of the *Standby* command.
5.2.6 USPSA Handgun matches will not require the use of a particular type
or brand of holster. However, the Range Master may deem that a competitor’s
holster is unsafe and order that it be improved to his satisfaction,
failing which it must be withdrawn from the match. Divisions
may restrict a specific type of holster.
5.2.7 Competitors must not be permitted to commence a course of fire
    wearing:
5.2.7.1 A shoulder holster or *tie-down* rig (visible or otherwise),
except as specified in Rule 5.2.8.
5.2.7.2 A holster with the heel of the butt of the handgun below the
top of the belt, except as specified in Appendix D, or otherwise
    indicated in Rule 5.2.8.
5.2.7.3 A holster with the muzzle of the handgun pointing further than
3 feet from the competitor’s feet while standing relaxed,
5.2.7.4 A holster which does not completely prevent access to, or
activation of, the trigger while holstered.

I'm in need of a few of these for a 1-1/2" belt and Safariland said they quit making them. If they started back I will buy a few of them!

2" is a lot. It may have been something else wrong with the holster.

You aren't going to find a drop mount for a 1.5" belt, but you will find a 1.5" drop mount :D

This is the only 1.5" belt mounts you will find:

Supposedly many years ago they made them. Safariland claimed they stopped making them because they didn't sell.

    I also have a idea using a tek-lok.

Be weary, that mount will make your gun point straight into your leg and possibly cants the pistol farther than 2".

That's great points. I got caught up in a simple one piece belt mount and never slowed down enough to past that.
