Unless one tried to attack me I don't think I could ever go kill a cougar or bobcat just for the fun of it.

It's like the guys who just go out to kill coyotes for fun of it and not even use the animal for anything.
It's one thing to have live stock to protect, but it's wrong in my opinion to just kill um for fun without using the hide or any part of the animal.

I've always been tough to when hunting, you use the animal you took down.

There's talk of putting bounties on coyotes and bobcats at my camp. The president doesn't like them eating fawns and Turkeys.

We have instructed all of our members to shoot every coyote and bobcat we see.

Yep, The lady at my camp was a stand over on the pipeline and I heard 2 shots, she texts me that she shot 2 bobcats. 30 minutes later I look down and there's a coyote right in front of my stand... BANG! I keep the tails at least. I'll keep the pelts if I don't F them up too bad... That .308 makes a mess of them though usually. We had one guy shoot a bobcat with a .270 and it was a clean kill, I'm pretty sure he had it mounted.

Well come up with what excuse you want but people just like to kill stuff. Don't want the coyotes or panthers having all the fun of killing deer, so we kill them so we can kill more deer ourselves. lol... whatever.

I found big cat tracks and piles of bones while walking around lake darbone several years ago. A lot of people don't believe me when I tell the story

I had a cougar cross the dirt road in front of me back in 70's in Darbonne when I was riding out there on a 10 speed bike. That's how long ago that was when 10 speeds were new and before Darbonne became a National Wildlife Reserve. I think it was in 1973.
