    Happy New Year to all! Attached please find the 2017 Palo Alto High Power match program.

    Note that there will be a Civilian Marksmanship Program EIC Leg match
    conducted on Sunday the 19th of March. This EIC match follows the day
    after the regularly scheduled monthly High Power match on Saturday the
    18th. You can use the Saturday match to get your zeroes for the Leg
    match the next day. This Leg match is not associated with a State or
    Regional tournament. The entry fee for the Leg match will be $15.00
    which breaks down to $10.00 for the CMP and $5.00 for the Palo Alto
    Rifle & Pistol Club.

    The next approved monthly High Power across the course match is Saturday
    the 21st of January and will be an 80 shot match. Registration opens at
    0700 and closes at 0800. Entry fee is $12.00 for club members and $15.00
    for non-club members. Bring a sturdy coat and ideally a new shooter with
    you so that we can grow the sport. If you require any support for a
    junior shooter then please call or email me. If you have any questions

    Eligibility: Open to the public

    Fees: Club Members $12.00 Adults / $5.00 Juniors
    Non-club members $15.00 Adults / $5.00 Juniors

    Entries: Entry for all matches may be made using an SR-1 Card.

    Directions to the range:

     Take I-10 to the Sorrento/Donaldsonville exit 182 and go towards Donaldsonville
     Turn left onto LA Hwy 70 (At the caution light)
     Go across the Sunshine Bridge and continue into Donaldsonville. (Bear right at the road fork between the bridge and Donaldsonville.)
     Go to the 4th traffic light in Donaldsonville and turn left onto LA. Hwy. 1.
     Go approximately 3.5 miles to LA Hwy 943. Turn right onto Hwy 943.
     Go approximately 3.5 miles. The highway will make a sharp right turn.
     The entrance gate to the range will be approximately 125 yards ahead on the left after that sharp right turn.

    Squadding: All matches will be squadded. Registration and squadding for individual matches will open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 AM. Competitors who fail to be at their assigned firing point when their relay is called to the line may lose their privilege to compete in the event.

    Identification: NRA classification cards must be shown before squadding.

    Classification: The NRA Classification system will be used in all matches. Unclassified competitors will compete in the Master class. Assigned classification (Rule 19.6) or Temporary Classification (Rule19.2) may be used.

    Rules: Current NRA High Power Rifle Rules will apply. There will be two categories in the matches: NRA Match Rifle and Service Rifle. NRA Match Rifle 9Rule 3.3) or Service Rifle (Rule 3.1) will be allowed in the matches. Metallic sights may be used. The rifle may have an optical sight (reflective sights are considered optical sights) with a maximum power of 4.5X installed on the receiver. Variable scopes with a maximum of 4.5X are permitted. Only commercially manufactured scopes that were produced with a maximum magnification of 4.5X and that have a maximum objective lens of 34 mm may be used. If an optical sight is used, the same optical sight must be used in all stages of a course of fire (changing sights is not permitted). The centerline of an optical sight shall be no higher than 3.5 inches above the centerline of the bore. (Rule 3.1 c) Ammunition to be provided by the competitor. (Rule 3.17) A fee of $3.00 will be collected in advance for each scoring challenge.

    Targets: SR at 200 yards, SR-3 at 300 yards, and the MR-1 at 600 yards.

    Course of Fire: The Regional Match Course (80 shots with 2 sighting shots allowed before each match/stage of fire)

    Sighting shots: Sighting shots are not required to be taken but if declined the shooter must notify the scorer of this fact before the first shot is fired in a slow fire stage of fire. Sighting shots may be taken from any position described in Rule 5 (Except 5.13).

    Scoring and pit operation: Competitors will be required to perform scoring and pit operation duties. The pit rotation schedule will be:
