We have a Pelican Rifle case at work that needs to be cut out to fit a piece of equipment . We don't want to hack away at it . Is there anybody around that does this professionaly ?
The foam that comes with the case can bet cut with an electric knife or some people use a Hot wire cutter. Problem is, the foam breaks down and will loosen over time.
For a VERY clean look, look for the high density foam they sell for pelican cases. I believe it's called kaizen foam. Pretty good videos of cutting that with a retractable knife/razor.
Ive been looking into this alot recently for a personal probect. Seems like the best bet is a hotwire cutter. Like the guy above stated though if you use it frequently the foam will start to pull apart. Lots of people are using a product called plastidip to fix it. It turns the foam into one solid smooth piece after you cut it
