I recently read somewhere about new efforts being made to obtain an amnesty period for owners of weaponry needing to be made legal. In what I read was the statement that only one crime has been committed with a legally registered Class III weapon, and that was by a LEO who used it in a crime of passion years ago on a single victim. This was in face of the fact there are hundreds of thousands of legal Class III weapons in this country.
Does anyone here know how the battle is going on getting another amnesty period? And, does anyone know where one goes to keep abreast of such attempts, and might be able to help in some small way bring this about?
