    Well, I sent off the state and federal forms to make my Spike's lower an SBR for some upcoming film projects. This is my first foray into the world of Class III. Also trying to get paperwork for a suppressor sent out before I leave.

    Keep in mind, this is my first one, so I am hoping I did everything right.

    My trust was done by Mouthpiece here on the board. I highly recommend him..at least if mine works out well. LOL.

    I know his went through fine and he has items on his.

    Doing it using your LLC is pretty much the same. First thing you need to do is to submit the state form to register you as a manufacturer. You'll need a copy of this approved form, your articles of incorporation, the check and completed Form 1 in duplicate and send it to 244 Needy Rd.

    Mine are done through one of my LLC's. No fingerprints, no Chief LEO sign off, and usually a shorter wait period. Also, my wife is 50 percent owner of the LLC, so they can legally be in her sole possession.

    I'm about to start my NFA journey as well. Does the state not require a payment for this registration or do I just need to send all my completed forms with my Trust docs?

    8-30-2010- (02/Total-31 Days)

    Called ATF to find out who examiner was and was told nothing was pending under my serial number. I advised them the check had been cashed, and she said once the check is cashed it is 30-45 days before it is assigned an examiner.

    Will give it until the end of September and call to check up.

    I have had the same 30 + days experience between the time the check was cashed and the examiner assigned. However, my latest approval came 29 days after the examiner was assigned.
