Outdoor Shooting Range around Baton Rouge

Hey everybody, I`m a newbie. I`ve been trying to find a Outdoor Rifle shooting range around Baton Rouge area, no more than 45 minutes away, and preferably at least 50-100 YD, Public. Any input is greatly appreciated.

La. Wildlife and Fisheries has a public range @ Sherburne Wildlife Mang. Area. Located off Hwy 190 west of BR. It is about an hour away for me and I live on the southeast side of the city. Look on the LWF web site for more info.

The East Ascension Sheriff's range is open to the public a couple days a month. Don't know the dates, offhand.

Palo Alto is very nice. Sherburne is a public range and does the job. This time of year it sucks with all the bubba hunters zeroing thier deer rifles.

Are any of these ranges over 300 yards? I have access to a 300 yard range, but am looking for somewhere with 600, 1000, or further.

If you're looking for something longer, I believe Long Range Alley up in Northern Louisiana has 1000 yard range.
