Is that our regular F-Class target, or something else ?

I just ordered a Savage "predator hunter" M110, in 6.5 x 284 with 24" fluted varmint weight barrel and 1.5# trigger. Might be fun.

This is something that has interested me since I saw your previous thread the other day. I really like Savage rifles, and was wondering. How well would a Savage .308 w/ 20 in bull barrel be able to compete? I know a lot has to do with the shooter, but I have never shot at distances past 200 yrds and dont know how well the .308 does out that far.

Your gun will do fine. I shoot a 19" barrel .308. Bring some ammo and show up I guarantee you will have fun and be surprised how well you do at 600 yards.

Well due to the 26" rule looks like my smith will be taking an inch off my barrel. One question though, due to the actions having to be repeaters do the rounds have to be fed from the mag or are they still single loaded?

Appreciate the efforts of all to get this off the ground. Wish I didn't enjoy shooting the steel event the second Saturdays in Thibodaux so much. We're lucky to have so many opportunities for competition here in South La....too bad we don't have six or so weekends a month to spread 'em out ;)

All rounds fired are from the mag. No single loads.

Like Barney said, this rifle is quite suitable for 600 yard. If you know your velocity and have a good 100 yard zero, you can use a ballistic calculator to determine how many MOA or mildots to adjust for 600 yards.

Yup, I requested off work, now I just need a chrono so I can get on target at 600.

Or does anyone know the speed of 168gr fgmm out of 20.5" 1-12 twist barrel?
