    Your thoughts please on a Taurus Model 17C 17 HMR revolver with a 4" barrel

    Kinda want one but not sure, wondering if anyone has one?
    And willing to share their experiences

    It seems like an expensive bullet in a gun that limits what the round is capable of. .17 HMR seems much more like a rifle round to me.

    I'd think .22LR or .22Mag or a convertible would be better.

    In that case, I would skip the 17hmr route and go to a .22lr. I don't see the purpose for a 4" revolver in 17hmr. To me it is an excellent varmint round but you won't see enough of the benefits out of that short barrel to make it worth while. With the .22 option, you will get same amount of plinking fun and have less noise for less $$$
