A couple days ago at the Academy on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette there were about a dozen boxes of Winchester 333rd 22LR left over for 14.95 as well as many other boxes of different types of Aguila 22lr.

Seems they are not selling out as quick as they used too.

On a side note. The Academy in Slidell sells the exact same box or Win 333 for 9.95. I thought maybe one was hollowpoint and the other not, but when I got home I compared the two and they are exact same. Don't know why there is such a difference between locations. I bought the 9.95 box about 3 months ago. Maybe there's been a price increase.

    .

No one is touching the Aguila b/c it's sitting @ 0.08-0.10¢ a rnd.

Everything else is still being eaten up as it hits the shelf.
If you find a Bulk Box, it's b/c it was only there for less than 10 minutes.

At least for my area, anyway. Weeks ago I saw an Open Bulk Box of Blazer Brass for the first time in months.
Your immediate thought is, oh wow, I guess the market is bouncing back.....nope.

Cashier said she put it on the shelf about 10 minutes ago and someone had already snagged 150 rounds out of it.

The 5,000 rounds of Thunderbolts that the Lake Charles Academy put out on Monday,
    was gone by Wednesday eve.

The pallet of 300k or whatever it was in Texas Cabelas was also sold within the week.

The prices however are coming down.

The availability has not come up.

ive got five or 6 thousand rounds so i'll sit comfortably until prices fall back to single cents per round.

the only thing the gun craze taught me:

the only time you have too much ammo is when you're trying to swim with it

    edit: hmm, thats signature worthy.

    That will never happen again.

But 0.02 to 0.03¢ a rnd is looking realistic
with the occasional 0.04¢ showing up every few weeks now.
Once the craze is over, I can see 0.03¢ a rnd being the stable price if not ½¢ cheaper
    at major retailers like Wal-Mart.

Just 5 years ago the norm was $12 w/tax per 550 Bulk Packs.

I've made some great buys now that everyone's regretting their panic buys and they need money for taxes. Supplies will be booming shortly, at least until everyone gets antsy before the election as usual.

1911dave.... I bought 22lr for under 3 cpr at Academy Slidell a few weeks go.. 9.95 for 333rds of 22lr. And about 4,CPR at an Academy in Lafayette (as mentioned to start the thread). It is coming down.

That Aquila stuff was pistol match and cb caps hence the high price. But normally that stuff would have sold out. I think it shows the desperation is slowing.

Cabelas had about 40k in today in 50 rd boxes. Blazer and federal both lead no copper and $2.99 per box. Also some 50 subsonic hollow point 50 rd @$5.99 per box.

On Monday Cabelas had 500 round packs of the CCI Mini-Mags available online and there wasn't a limit on the number you could buy. I will take that as the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Yep!!

The cost to produce this stuff is dirt cheap. They are making money on us selling it at .02 and .03/rd.

If distributors costs went up it'll come back down too.
