thought it was a good idea
I saw this forum title and thought "that's a good idea". that should be good info. then after a short cruise thru the posts i found out that one long winded insurance salesman thinks Whole Life is the one answer to everyones needs and pushes this in almost every question posted. don't even get me started!
guess it was too good to be true.

Your best financial advisor is YOU !
I have learned this the hard way. The very, very hard way.
No one will take care of you like YOU.

Wasn't me!!! Whole life or Universal Life can be a part of your investment strategy, but only a part. Having a guaranteed minimum return is pretty attractive these days...

Insurance is not for investing. It is great for estate planning, though.

Whole life, term life, and universal life are not considered securities and do not have to be registered with the state registrars office, so like Duckyou said: I consider them to be an estate plan and not and investment.
