New p7

I just picked p a p7 and I have a problem. When I got it home I was looking it over a little closer and came to a problem. On the box and slide the serial # is the same but on the frame the 2nd number is a 3 with a 4 milled over it all other digits match and it looks like its factory not like someone tried to change the serial #. I haven't been able to find any info on this any help would be great.

Got it at the gun show. Its a used HK P7 (police trade-in marked Trussville, AL). It is Grade "b" w/ 2 mags. The slide has 5 digit serial#, the "Nds" stamp (Lower Saxony State Police), 6/87, and "BWB 318" inside a square logo.
