That is not the dimple that you want to remove. It adds a little pressure on the magazine cap so it will not rotate under fire. The dimple you want to drill/grind out for the mag extension is the one that is keeping the green plug from coming out. It may be an older model gun so see what is keeping the metal piece on to of the green plug in the magazine.

The green plug is held by the metal retainer that just pry's out from the magazine tube.

The dimple is on the side of the magazine tube just below the end. Nothing for nothing but i have had a few experiences with these, it seems to be easier to just take a small drill bit (i have used 1/8") and just drill it out. Like I said, just a thought.

The dimpled ones have a plastic cap that goes in and is secured by the dimples. Metal cap usually = no dimples.

Cleaning up and refinishing the wood that's on it looks like fun to me. Plus (personal preference) I like wood over the synthetic stocks.

Totally strip the magazine - retainer, follower and spring. run your finger inside the mag and you will know if you have the dimples. Google it. Lot's of folks talking about it. I dremmeled them smooth.
