As there are several training courses coming to the area in the next several months, I've been researching ammo pricing. I decided to create a thread where ammo deals could be posted to help others acquiring for class. If you find a deal, please post ammo cost and shipping charges. I'll update the first post to include the best deals currently available as people post them. Non-corrosive deals only please... most people shy away from the corrosive stuff.

I'm not gonna be able to make any of these classes but I can recommend 2 different online places that I have good things to say about.

    First place is Widener's Reloading.
They currently have in stock the following:
    Yugo 7.62x39 M67 FMJ Ammunition $249.00/1260rnd
    and
    Wolf 223 55gr FMJ $5.39 box of 20 / $259.00/1000
    Wolf 223 62gr FMJ $5.39 box of 20 / $259.00 per 1000

And the other place is ammunition to go

I notice that all the ammo you have listed is steel cased. Century Arms has some of the HotShot brand, Non-Corr, Brass cased ammo for $275 per K until Dec 31st, and IIRC orders of more than $500 ship free.

Great... added it to the list.

I heard the Yugo is corrosive... anyone know for sure? I've decided not to add corrosive ammo to the list... since most people shy away from them.

    Great job btw.

Feel free to add corrosive for those of us who actually shoot and clean our firearms. Lol ;)

seriously, I was looking for the absolute cheapest .223 we could find and then the cheapest brass cased for the pampered rifles. Lol

    Thanks for this thread.

I've been looking for more info on the "HotShot" brass cased stuff, and it appears; that it is being manufactured for C.A.I. in the Poonsang plant in Korea, and it is basically the PMC stuff minus the red primer/bullet sealant. Has the same type/size/style of printing on the packages for the lot numbers as PMC.

maybe one of the guys with an FFL who have a dealer account with them can get it at even more discount? I did see where the tins of 5.45 were listed on their site at $143.xx per tin, and My-Rifle just placed an order for it @$107 per tin.

No problem, I can post the corrosive deals if they are the lowest price. The wideners deal with shipping comes out to be the same as the non-corrosive stuff in this instance:

    277.9 / 1260 = 0.22
    220.96 / 1000 = 0.22

I read on another site that www.marksoutdoors.com has Federal XM193AF (30 round boxes on 10 round stripper clips) for $275/900 rounds, and shipping is 17.99 per case. Don't know if they still have it, but they also had XM193 for $300 per 1000.
Its not on their website, you have to call them.
