    I finished the major portion of bobbing my 1970 deuce & 1/2. Put a custom 8" frame lift, 53" tires, 2-piece HEMTT wheels, M105A2 trailer bed, custom stainless brake lines, LED f/r/headlights. Next up is to install a custom power steering kit, under dash military A/C & heater kit and PAINT IT!

    And yes I do love it. Been wanting a m35a2 or a3 for several years now but life keeps getting in the way. I'd love to find a m35a2 used in the airforce with the upgraded dual circuit brakes so I could get away from the allison piece in the a3 version. Any would do though.

    I saw the thread title and knew exactly whose truck it was. Looks great hank. I almost feel like you need to cut off the posts on the bed and install wood to give it a country bumpkin hay truck look...... Almost. That thing is sick and now it's easier to park!

    Nicely done. The short wheel base mixed with lift and tires looks so much cooler. Did you do the "bobbing" ?

    Does it have multi fuel options? A friend used to get his from local fast food joints before they had to start "processing" it. Nothing like driving around on old grease (free in the old days) and having exhaust that smelled like french fries. :D

    Let me give you a friendly warning, from one of my previous lifetimes:

    One can get one (or, more) of these STUCK. And, when one does get STUCK, it can be a major problem.

    At one point, our idiot C.O. got three deuce-&-a-half's stuck and was going to send our fourth and last one to the same place, to get stuck also.

    Enjoy, but, stay careful.................

    what does 1 tire cost for something like that???

    I paid $200 per tire (95% tread left). Tires are 3/4" thick and weigh 400 pounds each!

    Yes, I did the bobbing. I hate rivets! I hate drilling a frame without a mag drill. If I had to do it over I would definitely purchase a mag drill.

    Yes, it is a multi-fuel engine. I have a bunch of waste motor oil (WMO) stored for the apocalypse. Just let the water settle out, gravity drain the oil through 5 filter socks down to 1 micron, add it to the tank and go! The multi-fuel engine will run on WMO, ATF, Kerosene, Diesel, Gasoline (not by itself), WVO, hydraulic fluid, some synthetics, and basically anything else that will burn.

    I know nothing about these. Are the reliable enough for daily use, if one is just absurdly capable of affording the fuel for it?

    Could one purchase one of these in up/running condition similar to the one you have NOW, as opposed to piecing it together, if time > money, for a reasonable amount?
