Girlfriend just got stopped by LPSO for a license plate light. He said her plate lights were out then he changed it to one of them was out. Must be a slow night. Too bad he doesn't stop the SOB's blinding her all night with all the blue head & fog lights

License plate lights are a legit reason to get pulled over. Pretty common. Have your house in order and no big deal.

On the heels of yet another phone/car law; 2013's no social networking while driving, I am still waiting to see if ANY one/department is writing tickets for the 2010 No texting while driving law?

It appears to me, the law has encouraged more of it! :dunno:

Holy Hell, does anybody realize they are driving anymore?

I just opened up mail from Zachary police photo enforcement center 3 days ago for 38 in a 35. I was shocked lol mailed off my ticket and $30 and was done.
They also normally use stuff like that as PC (bait fish) and it leads to much bigger fish more than you would think.

WOW. A cop stops her, fixes the problem, and sends her on her way, and he is still a prick for not stopping those with bright headlights. As far as I know, those blue headlights are DOT certified.

Since when does LPSO work traffic?

    .

Just seeing one where we go is rare. He was fishing. She is on those roads every night 365 nights on the her paper route.
He passed her hauling ass as she was turning in a road (using turn signals as she always does) he turns around and comes back to that road (dead end road) and turns in and catches her. She stopped and held some papers out the window. He comes up and said "oh you're delivering the paper" she said yes and he told her that her license plate light was out.
She told him that I always kept everything pretty much working and then he said well they were working but wasn't bright enough.

Wonder if his plate light was working? :)

Blue, yellow, purple bulbs, which are not approved. Nor are HID bulbs you replace halogen bulbs with.

But it's nice to know that he was at least in an area where your girlfriend is at night where you otherwise wouldn't see one in case she got into some serious trouble not of her own doing?

So much for what you think you know. What about the 95% of people with fog lights running them every night blinding us on the route? I guess you didn't know that's illegal did you? THAT is a safety problem they are blinding on coming traffic. A plate light is only good to LE if they are stopping you and then you will be lit up like daylight.

A few miles from where he stopped her the little assholes that live in the area are stealing the Stop Signs and moving them to places the don't belong, putting logs in the roads at night. I've called the parish DPW a few times in the last month to let them know and the put up new signs. Also been talking to LPSO about it before some body gets hurt or killed at the intersections. But they can't catch them but they can stop a 55 year old paper lady with a plate light that wasn't up to his liking.

Study Title 32 and come back informed :) http://www.legis.state.la.us/lss/lss.asp?folder=106

I have 6K HIDS in my driving and my fog lights. They are not a safety problem. They improve my safety actually. I can see better at night and the intensity is superior. However, maybe I'm just doing something right because I have never been flashed or complained too. I aimed my headlights to factory specs and its all good.

When she has needed one in the middle of the night there wasn't any. Last night she was in French Settlement "city" limit but they don't work that late at night.
Also she's goes in Port Vincent doesn't work that late at night, they used to over 8 yrs ago when Terry Farmer was Chief but when the Mayor in office and hired Norris Hull as Chief they didn't work at late night anymore or some days for that matter. Now they have a new Mayor and Chief and it's getting better.

Most of the area we go in is covered by LPSO and up until Mickey McMorris scared them they had 2 units to work the east side of the parish. Then they got about 3 to work.
