When I was a child I loved all things related to guns, except revolvers.
    I just didn't like the look I guess. I don't know.

Once I began to shoot handguns, I realized, I didnt like the feel of the revolver as well. And for most of my pre teen/teenage years I pretty much avoided revolvers.

Then one day, I saw while browsing the local pawn shops, a beautiful Ruger GP100 4". And it surprised me that a revolver actually made me stop and take a second look. So, I bought it!
The first time I bring it to the range, I shot one box of some full house .357 magnum rounds, then put it back in the bag. I did not care for the way it shot! My hand hurt, the shots were all over the target!
It got all cleaned up then put in the safe for about a year before I shot it again.
Through the years following I bought more revolvers, prices were just too good to pass up, and started shooting revolvers more. Furthermore I changed my grip when shooting revolvers and that helped a lot.

Now, fast forward to present day, and I love wheel guns!
I sold a few recently, and can't talk enough about how much I miss them and getting them back!

So, have the wheel guns always been the apple of your eye, or did they pull you away from the autos as they have me?

Revolvers have always been a passion for me. I started on revolvers at a very young age and I still carry them. They are harder to master and require more discipline IMO. For me it's tantamount to playing chess. Because of the limited ammo capacity, you have to calculate your shots carefully and make everyone of them count. My 642s get more trigger time than anything I own. Even though I'm not PERFECT with it just yet, I do utilize it often and make it as comfortable as throwing a fist. Many folks turn a blind eye to revolvers and prefer handguns with higher capacity, faster operation and the ability to use ammunition that can surpass typical terminal velocities of most standard pressure revolver ammunition outside of +P or magnum varieties. Yes, it is an acquired taste. Some choose not to waste their time with it. However, learning how to shoot a revolver can be beneficial for anyone wanting to expand their skill set. Revolvers can be inheritently accurate but that depends on many factors such as grip, hold, recoil management and follow through. Revolvers are such a different breed and mind set that one could write a class on revolver shooting alone. I will always have a revolver and my personal favorite are small, snubnose revolvers wether it's a lowly .38spl or the massive. 454 Casull.

I love them although I only have one. Taurus 627TI. I will add a 686 to my collection one day.

I'm exactly opposite. It took me years to acquire a taste for autos. Grew up with dad having only revolvers so, to me, that's what a gun was supposed to look like.

I love revolvers. The ruger gp100 is a great gun.

There is nothing like shooting a single action 4 1/2" barreled 45 colt revolver. Something about the recoil I just love.

Always liked them myself. I've always liked westerns. I grew up shooting and occasionally my dad would bring out his revolvers and sometimes let me shoot some .38 through one of his Rugers. Later on some 357/44mag. I liked the bigger cartridges for purely Freudian reasons, probably, and the aesthetics of the guns were always nice, in my eyes.

Then again, going against all that traditional and aesthetic stuff, I still have a bit of a chubby for a Chiappa Rhino.

I acquired a stainless Colt Anaconda a few years back for a song. I had 2 Ruger Super Blackhawks but got rid of them both when I shot this beautiful piece. It will go to my grave with me. I would love to get a stainless Python or King Cobra to compliment it but my pocketbook says not yet. One day...

The general rule (riddled with exceptions) is Automatic for the streets, Revolver for the trails. That said, If you can't find a pleasurable grip out of a 4" S&W with Hogue grips at the range, I don't know what to tell you.

It is always hard for me to pass up a good condition Smith from the 70's and back if it isn't a model that I don't have already.

I have both semi's and revolvers. Nothing like shooting a 686 with a 6 inch barrel. They are fun and cool. But should the SHTF a high capacity Semi Auto would be my go to choice.

I never shot a Rhino but when they came out I played with one at a gun shop and couldn't get over how weird the trigger was.

The 357 I shot was amazing. The recoil was almost straight back into the hand instead of flipping upward like some revolvers tend to do. It a real pleasure to shoot, even with the smallish grip.

I like both revolvers and pistols. I even have an unfired H&R 929 22lr revolver all the way up to a S&W 29-2 and lots in between of different manufacturers. My problem is I love all firearms and just keep looking to feed the addiction. Skiney, I do love Lacricia. Sure is "Purdy". The single action revolvers in 45 Colt are my downfall as well.

    Thanks for the air time.

Smith and Ruger are making me like wheel guns... Of course I have a S&W PC Deep Cover and a Ruger SP101 in the shop... Nice guns. I have a GP100 on the way but it sold within minutes of me posting it was on the way.
