Mostly pretty nice looking fairly odd mil-surp pieces at that... pieces you don't see come up very often.

I mean people do come up short for cash and need to sell collections occasionally. Not unheard of for someone to sell all or part of a collection, right? Not saying that is definitely the case here, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions either IMO.

I'm hoping the OP will come back and give a few more details to appease us...

Wth? Was it a bad area? I'm not familiar with Lafayette

It would be foolhardy to drive Orange St at night. During the day you would want to keep moving, not get blocked in at intersections. A reasonable person would not venture into that area to effect a firearm sale.

Not good at all...head needs to be on a swivel, watch your six, never ever get to comfortable. ...like to text or chat awhile before I agree to buy or sale....gives my gut time to let me know if it's right or wrong...never let me down yet

    This!

I probably will not offer something to some person who I am not friends with or who has the core characteristics of the types of people I'd label a friend. Even MORE SO if you're speaking face to face.

So no offense to any and all; the last place I would offer something for sale is here (local). There are members here who seem t be very established that I would not scrutinize as closely but I'd also ask around about the person and look at some of their posts.

    I dunno.

    Be careful, folks!

    You do realize if you
have a CCW,you can stop a felony in progress?.I guess that true in La.I had CCL up state
I was told by the card I carried. If a felony was in progress,I had the right to intervene..

    Anyway,GLW All that !!!

Um, no. You'll be out your CHL at the minimum, probably end up a felon in the process. One stupid action on your part should not precipitate 3 more stupid actions.

You can theoretically citizen's arrest a felon, but you get none of the protections offered a peace officer. You get a whole lot less public sympathy.

This is what the feedback score is for... BS should be the safest site for private party local deals.

Orange St. is not the best part of town. Definitely not for a firearm sale. I believe the Lafayette PD has a spot in their parking lot for face to face sales of items between individuals.

Say that again. I don't quite get it.

I Was saying ,when I had a ccl up north ,north,I mean state wise.My CCL card said I had the right to stop
any felony that I saw in progress.I was basically asking if that was the laws here.I do know most of the
laws here, just not anything about the CCW,because I have never gotten one or wanted one in La.

This is a OC state,no reason for me,personally to have a CCW.I stay on my land or in my car. That is where
the ol castle doctrine comes in.Oh and I carry a M57 on my side daily.I have it on now:)

If you can have another shooter with you. But I like how you're thinking.

If you did that to me.I would be driving off. That too me is one of the biggest red flags.
Why you need your protector or friend in the car? I always tell them to come alone.

I had it happen many years ago.A guy wanted a firearm. We met and he had a guy with
him.He turned and asked the guy to come look.I thought to myself as the other guy
was standing there. The original buyer was in front and his buddy in back.of me.First
off,I never want to not be able to see everyone in the transaction and i sure don't want
to have to be looking behind me.All in all, just not a good idea IMHO

And I am always alone.I would never want to jeopardize someone else s life over a firearm
deal for me.I think that's foolish.

And yes I have driven away from that situation as well. The guy txt me,apologized and
we meet again. Most people will get it ,if you just explain it and not just run away.

Another question to think about. Why is the BS member selling a handgun to the perpetrator (who appears to be in his late teens)? Even if daddy was inside as he describes, would you let someone that can't legally purchase your firearm play with it?
