He wasn't garbage, he just couldn't grasp North and South running. When he finally caught on in 2009, he did help us get that Lomabardi.

Doesn't matter, how much he didn't do, he was a threat and drew double coverage most of the time and put in some good blocks. But like most college stars, he couldn't let his ego go and be the #2 guy and take a pay cut to be on a team that has a chance to win it all again.

But to more important things, whats up with the other free agents?

Reggie Bush has booked his flight: Not surprisingly, it goes through Boise, El Paso, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, and back through NOLA to Mobile. Drew Brees will pick him up there and take him the rest of the way...as long as he doesn't drop and lose his boarding pass somewhere along the way.

wow. I thought i was the only person who thought he was useless as an RB. Ingram is a real North/South runner. If he does anything with the Saints like he did with Bama, he'll be unstoppable!

He took a pay cut anyways.

He'll make $5 million this year, and $4.75 in 2012 with Miami. Bush was due to make $11.8 million this year with the Saints. (as per ESPN)

Methinks most Saints fans have known for a long time that we didn't need that PAC 10 egotistical show-off. Sure he put up solid numbers in college (even though Vince Young doubled his stats the year Reggie won the Heisman), but it was never against SEC defenses. Gimme a solid SEC RB any day of the week. Mark Ingram is going to carry the ball straight through opposing defenses, instead of running away from them and hoping for a yard or two at the end of the run.

He wasn't a great running back by any means, but he was great on special teams and defenses did have to spy him - we'll see if we're really that much better off. However, at least they cleared a big chunk of cap space.

It is going to be really interesting to see the affect these 3 bruisers have on defensive lines and how Brees takes advantage of the secondary when they have to send the strong safety and a cornerback to help stop the bleeding.
