      will there ever be .22 again?

      I was just in Academy in Slidell today and they were out of Federal, but had Aguila at $6/box, up at the customer service register. Two box limit. Too expensive to be excited about, but at least supply is starting to keep up with the run on the stuff.

      AR-7 as primary .22 rifle?

      I bought the Remington 597. Decided on a scoped deer rifle, so wanted a similar .22 for practice. A scope would have spoiled the portability of the AR-7. Ruger Takedown would have cost twice as much by the time I put a scope on it.

      Hi my-rifle, I'm in Slidell. They stock them at Academy so I intend to take a good look at the sights there. But I've pretty much decided that I'm getting the Remington 597. It goes hand in hand with my decision to get a deer rifle with a scope.
