Steve helped me get my feet wet when I started shooting and taking classes. He never refused a phone call. Will miss the breakfasts before class started. He was a great friend and mentor.
This is a good little read. :D Not wanting to start anything with this. Steel is fun, but sometimes paper is where it's at.
Paper and Steel Don't Lie --Kyle Defoor
Quick update for the issue I mentioned above. The installation of the o-ring fixed the problem. Brass ejected to a predictable location (about 3:30 to 4:00). Rapid fire was no issue either.
Yeah. I think they're pretty close to identical except for some of the furniture and barrel (BCM BFH 11.5" here). Which sights did you opt for?
I keep wanting to try a handstop but don't think I'll get away from a vertical foregrip. The foregrips have a bit more utility, IMO. Does the Unity...
E-filed on 6/1. Approved on 9/28. There was an issue with the system not updating the application correctly. Submitted issue and had the approved form with stamp two days later.
Ran across that during the research as well. Might have to look into that if I still have issues.
It's a BCM bolt carrier group with their enhanced spring and Crane o-ring. Will keep an eye on it next time I'm at the range. While reading on other sites, supposedly rifle and mid length gas...
Was able to finish this build a couple of days ago. Thanks SpeedRacer for taking all my texts and phone calls.
Have a Micro T-1 with Bobro mount coming from Interstate guns. Silencerco Saker with ASR mount is in jail at the LGS.
Went to the range this past Saturday to test out the SLR Sentry...
I worked with the same rifle for my first bolt rifle. The first thing I did was replace the stock and the trigger. A picture of it can be seen here. http://www.bayoushooter.com/forums/showthread.php?5-rifle-pictures-thread&p=1391546&viewfull=1#post1391546
It's only been out to 500 yards...
For serious cleaning, i.e. my last cleaning was after 2 years and roughly 3500 rounds in that time period. I used to be religious about cleaning after every range trip (50 to 100 rounds). I'm not so anal about things after that experiment; just lube often.

Speed and I were on the same wavelength when discussing our builds. The video below shows the lite version of the SLR rail. The ultra lite doesn't have a full top rail. Not having to align the barrel nut for the gas tube makes this a no brainer for me.
Haven't had any issues with light-bearing holsters for my VP9. There may be a wait for custom kydex though. I have a P30 holster for a TLR-1 that works well with my VP9. I need to get one for the X300 too.
Per-Sec Systems has been pretty good for getting holsters done...
