"House panel advances bill requiring 25-foot distance from police officers"

Any definition for that term would be subjective, as it is not specific. 25ft does not seem to fit the term immediate when referring to personal space.

"House panel advances bill requiring 25-foot distance from police officers"

Them's fite'n wurds Who knew this phrase actually references a law? Not me Honestly though, I thought this was America? As long as the verbal communication is not of a threatening nature, it is, or should be, considered free speech.

"House panel advances bill requiring 25-foot distance from police officers"

Believe it or not, there are times when cops are in the wrong. This law would make it easier for them to get away with being in the wrong. It's already illegal to interfere with police duties.

      I just wanted to say...

I will say though, given the very real possibility of a potential scam in progress, I would not be sending any money back to that account without taking appropriate safety measures first.

      I just wanted to say...

First of all, the guy from my experience 20 years ago, had lined up buyers already, then someone else came along and offer money to hold it for him specifically, instead of selling it to the ones that already spoke for it. 2nd of all, I don't do deposits to or from individuals, and I am...

      I just wanted to say...

If someone loses out on a sale, because they held it for someone else, shame on them. Live and learn. If they, allegedly, had buyers lined up, 3 of them at the same time mind you, then they should have no problem selling it. Of all the guns I've seen listed here, some for pretty decent prices...

      I just wanted to say...

I just want to put it out there, and I'm not 100% sure on how true this may or may not be, but I was telling my wife about this 20 year old situation, and she told me that she thought she remembered a scam happening on Facebook, where the buyer would send a deposit, then demand the deposit back...

No. Unless this person is actually trying to scam someone, I would not condone keeping unearned $.

      I just wanted to say...

I have learned much in life, and still have yet more to learn, however, one of the most life changing lessons I have learned is to do my best to do right by others, even if they have not done right by me (some exemptions may apply to extreme cases). Generally, I am happy to lose a couple bucks...

      I just wanted to say...

I had an experience 20 years ago that completely randomly came to mind, and it compelled me to make this statement. If I, a white Australian Hulk Hogan with sometimes offensive chest tattoos who has no affiliations because people generally suck, were to take a deposit on an item, I would, in...

We see the smoke, but is there fire?

Honestly, I was rather looking forward to you explaining how something that is laughably fake, is in fact not fake at all.

Lafayette police kick in door and arrest 2 men...at the wrong house

Supposedly they were there because of a 911 call that was made, that actually wasn't, and they somehow obtained a 7 year old video of someone beating on someone, at a totally different location, which they used as their evidence to justify breaking into their home. Abby might be onto something...

Lafayette police kick in door and arrest 2 men...at the wrong house

Doesn't matter, they obtained 2 body's, the identity of which is apparently neither here nor there. Maybe the actual suspect was next door and was well enough entertained to forget about what he was doing.

Lafayette police kick in door and arrest 2 men...at the wrong house

I would love to know how they arrived at kicking the door in, before actually making any confirmations. Seems like a simple knock and declaration would have completely prevented the whole situation.
