      Brass marks on my slide?

      I just bought this pistol and put 50 rds thru it today only to find brass colored marks on my slides just ahead of the cutout. Could this be marks from the brass hitting the slide? If so how would I stop it from doing that again. I was shooting WWB 230 gr target ammo.
