      6.5-06 Barrel ID

      Any help identifying barrel maker. Only markings are caliber and horse head with an F on base of barrel. Rifle has Mauser action and is possible from 1960s-70s. Any info is appreciated.

      Smallest caliber for deer?

      Great choice for deer. .243 is an amazing little hunting rifle. lightweight and minimal recoil. My wife shoots one and has taken down numerous deer.......Not all have been good shots either.
