    The Smiths NEVER malfunction.

Actually this past year, I have had two revolvers malfunction on me and fail to fire.

One was a brand new .45 LC/410 Taurus, and it really wasn't it's fault. It was a poor ammo choice.

The second was my Model 10 S&W. Cylinder locked up and refused to turn. Wouldn't open no matter what you did. It is at the gunsmith now.

HOWEVER, agreed, a revolver is more reliable than an automatic. Less to go wrong I suppose. But they will still "jam" on you.

Nice gun. I'm considering either the 642 or the 638 myself. From a "theoretical" viewpoint, I like the SA option on the 638, but honestly can't imagine needing to fire a 1-7/8" .38 for pinpoint accuracy. I'm leaning toward the 642 from a "simpler is better" perspective, but I'd be curious to know if you looked at the "Bodyguard" variant before going with the 442.
